Pioneering Environmental Solutions with Plasma Based Environmental Solutions

situation

Plasma Arc Technologies, Inc. (PAT), established in Florida in 2004, has been at the forefront of introducing advanced thermal plasma
systems to address the critical challenges faced by the waste management industry. With an escalating global demand for sustainable
waste disposal and energy recovery solutions, PAT sought to leverage its innovative technology for the destruction of government-classified
and declassified digital data devices, conversion of waste to liquid fuels, and elemental recycling of metals. The mission was to enhance
environmental sustainability, support energy needs, and educate a skilled workforce in cutting-edge plasma technology applications.

task

GSI was tasked with a comprehensive mandate to assist PAT in realizing its strategic goals. This encompassed facilitating PAT’s designation
as a United States contractor for digital data device destruction, navigating the permit and certification landscape for operating in New York
and California, and securing a significant federal contracting license. These objectives required navigating complex regulatory
environments, establishing credibility in highly specialized domains, and pioneering first-of-its-kind permits for plasma-based technologies.

actions

GSI undertook a multifaceted approach to support PAT’s ambitious agenda:

1

Contract Negotiations and Regulatory Navigation: GSI led the negotiations and managed the submission processes for
state and federal permits, ensuring compliance with environmental and operational standards. This included
groundbreaking submissions for plasma-based waste to liquid fuels permits in New York and air quality permits in the
Mojave Desert, California.

2

Certification and Governance: Facilitated PAT's certifications through NAID, ISO, R2, and e-Stewards, underpinning the
company’s commitment to quality and environmental stewardship. GSI also advised on corporate governance and
strategic business planning, engaging with a diverse team of experts across various disciplines.

3

Federal Contracting License Procurement: GSI successfully navigated federal environmental agency negotiations and
GSA schedule submissions, culminating in PAT being awarded a twenty-year federal contract for destruct services. This
achievement positioned PAT as a pivotal player in national security and environmental protection efforts.

4

Innovative Technology Deployment: Through GSI’s strategic guidance, PAT launched its operations in New York for the
conversion of municipal solid waste to liquid fuels and in California for the advanced thermal processing of metals. The
technologies employed are scalable, environmentally friendly, and capable of processing significant volumes of waste and
electronic feedstocks.

results

1

New York Waste to Energy: Acquired the country’s first permit to construct a plasma-based waste to liquid fuels
conversion plant in Long Island, NY, including co-generation and fuel storage, marking a significant milestone in
sustainable energy recovery.

2

National Data Destruction Services: Secured a twenty-year federal contract, establishing PAT as a trusted contractor for
the complete destruction of classified and sensitive digital data devices and documents using a secure truck to perform
on-site services.

3

National Data Destruction Services: Secured a twenty-year federal contract, establishing PAT as a trusted contractor for

This comprehensive suite of achievements underscores GSI’s role in enabling Plasma Arc Technologies, Inc. to pioneer environmentally
sustainable solutions in waste management, energy recovery, and data protection. PAT’s success exemplifies how innovative technology,
when coupled with strategic regulatory navigation and business planning, can lead to transformative environmental and societal benefits.
